How It All Began
In August 1969, before there were shopping malls, mail-order megastores, and Niketown, Dick Pond Athletics was born. Dick Pond, an accomplished high school distance runner and All-American from WMU, wanted to offer quality running shoes at an affordable price and exceptional customer service. This remains our mission today, with our 5 retail locations, 4 travelling shoemobiles, and booming mail order business.

The Shoemobile
The Dick Pond Shoemobile hit the road in 1969, when Dick Pond decided it would benefit his customers to bring the product to them. Today, our four Shoemobiles travel the greater Chicagoland area visiting schools, meets, road races, and special events daily. Our expert staff will come to your event with products including running or wrestling shoes, clothing, and accessories tailored to fit your groups' needs.
