History of the Garage Sale: Dick’s Garage
Dick Pond Athletics was founded by Richard (Dick) Pond in his garage in Glen Ellyn, IL in August 1969. He began by selling running shoes to local runners at track and cross country meets, as well as at road races, selling from the trunk of his Chevy Malibu.
We honor Dick’s legacy by hosting a garage sale of our very own, a nod to how it all got started.
His motto was “fast and reliable service”, which we still aim to achieve to this day.
